1. Policies and trade barriers
Results of the EU anti-dumping review on Chinese bearings
In June 2025, the EU announced that it would maintain anti-dumping duties on some Chinese bearing products (such as deep groove ball bearings and tapered roller bearings) at a rate of 8%-22%, but exempted high-end precision bearings used in new energy equipment (such as wind turbine main shaft bearings).
Impact: Chinese bearing companies are accelerating their transformation to high value-added products, and the proportion of wind turbine bearings in exports to Europe increased to 35% in June.
India raises import tariffs
India raised import tariffs on industrial bearings from 10% to 15% in June to protect local companies), but China circumvented some costs through re-export trade in Vietnam and Thailand.
2. Market dynamics and export performance
China's bearing export data
China's bearing exports increased by 12% year-on-year to US$6.5 billion from January to June 2025, with the main growth coming from:
New energy vehicle bearings (exports to Europe and Southeast Asia doubled);
Precision bearings for robots (Japan and Germany are the main buyers).
Main export regions: Russia (depending on Chinese supply chain due to Western sanctions), the Middle East (industrial expansion needs), ASEAN (transfer of automobile industry chain).
Price competition intensifies
Chinese small and medium-sized bearing companies launched a price war in June, and the FOB quotation of ordinary miniature bearings (such as 6200 series) fell by 5%-8%
Raw material cost fluctuations
In June, the international price of bearing steel (GCr15) rose by 10%, and Russia's exports were restricted, pushing up the cost of bearing manufacturing.
